The Objectives of Politecnico di Milano

Academic courses and master programs in English language, welcoming facilities, less bureaucracy: this is how the Politecnico di Milano is attracting foreigner students

professori_234x258"The internationalization is one of the strategic priorities of our University", so begins his speech Emilio Bartezzaghi, Delegate of the Rector for Internationalization. "We have been dealing already with this topic, but competition now is getting more aggressive. We need to substantially raise our efforts: high-level education and research are the foundation for the territorial appeal". Andrea Lacaita, Director of Electronic and Information Department (DEI), goes on: "Globalization is also blowing on our University; cultural and linguistic barriers cannot longer protect us; and, the country's system has to give a serious support".
Also Mauro Santomauro, Delegate of the Rector for Eucation Programs, and Gianluca Spina, Director of MIP (the Business School of Politecnico di Milano), agree on the necessity of a strong commitment to offer top level international courses.

The CEFRIEL General Meeting gave the opportunity to share information on the international programs of Politecnico di Milano among all attendees. The urgency of an European scale, if not global, applies to all academic areas: university degrees, master & PhD programs and research activities. The four professors agree on the importance of academic excellence to attract students, researchers and faculties from abroad with the aim, for example, to host a 10 percent of foreign students.
Courses and masters entirely held in English, infrastructures, welcoming facilities, simplified procedures and readiness to change are some of the cards to play in the international challenge.

"Will we eventually do some communication?", asks Alfonso Fuggetta, CEO of CEFRIEL, entering the discussion. "Indeed - Bartezzaghi replies - communication can play a key role to make all the departments of our University visible and to reinforce the brand of Politecnico di Milano, which is already valuable.
Concluding, we must communicate our excellence in order to attract foreign students, PhD candidates, researchers, and faculties". "We shall better exploit - Lacaita urges - instruments such as the networks of excellence that the European Union provides to advance the academic research".
It is an international community, and we are to be part of it.

CEFRIEL: developing the managers of technology innovation

Nowadays the role of ICT is more and more strategic and goes far beyond popular consumer devices such as PC, PDA or mobile phones. A lot of products, including the more ordinary ones, leverage computing intelligence thanks to embedded microprocessors and dedicated software. Further, the convergence of networks and multimedia information enables the development of new services. The indepth knowledge of ICT and its innovation potential is instrumental to craft products and services that can successfully compete on a global scale. Therefore, the ICT innovation manager has become one of the key assets to fuel the economic development. CEFRIEL regards master programmes, executive courses, and life-long learning as tools to nurture today's and tomorrow's leading professionals, whose competences span from a multidisciplinary ICT knowledge through a strategic vision of innovation in an international scenario.
