WASP – IST FP6

 Wirelessly Accessible Sensor Populations

 Project Highlights

  • FP6 WorkProgram Objective: Embedded systems
  • EU funding: € 10,100,000
  • Estimated costs: € 16,349,832
  • Project web site: http://www.wasp-project.org/

Project Goals

  • The development of an autonomous and intelligent infrastructure, which incorporates a wireless sensor network.
  • The development of a cost-efficient infrastructure that encourages application driven optimisation of the network composed of generic nodes.
  • The deployment of the infrastructure developed within a prototype, to validate both the sensor network design and the genericity of offered design.

CEFRIEL Contribution

  • Development of a technological infrastructure for wireless sensor networks that is autonomous, intelligent and cost-efficient
